How to Turn Thirty, Part 2

First and foremost, stretch your birthday out across the entire week. Ideally this would involve taking a trip to visit family and/or friends who will want to throw you a party a few days in advance of the one you will have on your real birthday when you return home. If you have the two most adorable nephews in the world, this simply must be your destination. And if your sister has managed to both secure the most fabulous birthday cake ever and turn the old sewing desk you admire whenever you visit into a new writing desk for you (complete with pages from your favorite book lining the inside of the drawers), then, again, this is a no-brainer when it comes to your pre-birthday week destination. Give me a cake, a desk, and my nephews and there's no other party at which I'd rather be.
