You know it's bad when you leave your house at 7 AM and still need the AC on in the car. Or maybe the badness doesn't sink in until you step out of the car at work and your sunglasses actually fog up. Or maybe it's when the Max AC setting in the car doesn't even feel very cold. Or when the 60 seconds you spend outside saying goodbye to a friend you had lunch with leaves you convinced you are either melting or dangerously sunburned. But personally, I think the clear sign of a heat wave is when after trying on your newly-arrived bikini, you decide to keep it on. And wear it around the house. All evening.

It's also bad when you can't leave your sunroof open overnight by accident in the middle of July without the inside of your car being soaked the next morning and you've forgotten what it feels like to sunburn after doing so the first 28 summers of your life :(
It's a sad day when your first-born becomes old enough that you can no longer wear said bikini around the house all afternoon. Let the roasting begin.
